Boffins Create Zombie Dogs.

They are not real zombies, by the standards of that article name Jesus would be a zombie.
Larghaz
Sea Lab 2021 question eh?
Algolagnia-Volcae
Hehe, yep.

What'd ya think of the article though?

Freezing humans for years so that they can be brought back in the future where medical advancements can cure any ailments that they have - Don't like that idea. It could cause overpopulation and only the rich would have the money for this.

Using the procedure on Soldiers - Great, revive a dead soldier so he can go out and die again. I say, revive the dead soldier and send him home to his family. He's already died for his country once. Besides, if they do send the soldiers back to the battlefield, how are wars going to end? Endless wave of soldiers.

Using the procedure on gunshot and stab victims - Now that's an idea I could support.
Algolagnia-Volcae
I could support it being implemented in prisons for life sentences, and death row inmates.

Harvest their organs for transplants.

I agree with those statements.

If you die, i believe you were ment to die. If you can save from dying then its ok, but once your dead, your dead. If people start getting revived left and right, you'll have another question to answer on polls and it'll get annoying.

If the people have ability to Revive then so do Bad People. Depending on DNA and such old dead skeletons could be reborn. Anybody want Hitler back? It'll be like a lot of movies where the Government uses their Revive ability and revive people that shouldn't be revived. Or cloning would start too like the 6th Day. (Awesome Movie Though)

I voted NO. After I died and How i died, i wouldn't want to be revived. Depending on the time that this could happen the world will be so different. I would not be into that. Even if you lost a child or love and you could revive them, of course you would want to but then that person may not be the same person that you knew. I don't think reviving will be 100% accurate. I believe in Souls and you can't just revive those I believe.
Algolagnia-Volcae
Cloning of humans has already been outlawed, besides they have no idea if the body they recovered of Hitler is even real.

This technology couldn't be used to freeze a corpse and bring it back to life, the person has to be still living.

A robot body?!

Ick! I can't feel anything when I am touched, can't taste anything, can't cry, can't laugh. What kind of life would that be? I might as well stick around in my new, etheral form if I'm that desparate to stick around Earth.

And I don't even look like me? Might as well let myself get reincarnated.

No. No robot body for me.
Kamisama
Human brain on robot body? No. I don't want to be a thing that has no emotion, no common sense, nothing. No way.
Algolagnia-Volcae
You'd have common sense, and emotion. You have a human brain afterall.

Anyway, you'd all die in the first wave of the great human versus robot war. :P
elfboy
No, I wouldn't want to just preserve my brain to be put into a robot, simply because not all memory is stored in your brain. People are gonna look at me funny, but what I mean is our bodies act as triggers for memory. So with a new body, would those triggers still be the same, just because our minds tell us so? I don't think so, no more than if I put my brain inside another human body - I think I would still lose those memory triggers. And that's a shame, to lose memories.

So no. Don't mind getting robot part replacements, if you go blind, you get robot eyes. if you go deaf, you get robot ears, if you have one hand, go get a cybernetic hand. there's nothing wrong with that. But whole scale body replacement, where I can only carry over my brain? No thanks.

edit: besides, I know our brains make us unique, and our personalities make us unique, but if our bodies are all one and the same (coz face it, how much money will it take to make a custom one-of-a-kind body for just you), how unique will our individual attributes be?

We could run the same distance and jump the same height. We could draw the same pictures if we're programmed just right. We could fight and not win coz we fight the same fight. Are we all who we're gonna be or the same every night?

A human being is more than just a brain. Otherwise, how can we be irrational?
Bishoujo Ichi
Not only that...what about your soul? Does retaining the brain also mean the soul is retained? I believe that once I die, my soul will be detached from any and all of my body parts - including my brain. I will go wherever my soul goes - which probably excludes a non-organic robot.
