Here's my NEW idea, which I may never work on: Titled "The Pale Ghost" or maybe "Hotel SoCal"(a reference to that Eagle's song, and some stoners I met online who live in California). It will be centred around this wandering ghost with no name, who hangs around a bar in Hotel SoCal. Every strip will probably just make wise-ass remarks on current news and everything else. In between that, Pale Ghost will drift into day-dreams(triggered by random phrases or objects), revealing bits & pieces of his past life(s).
And I guess I should tell you what happend with my OLD webcomic, which nobody read...

Roughly around 2001/2002, I created a short-lived webcomic(that got like 30 views or so) called "Mann The Ghostboy", about an amnesiac boy who was a ghost. It was really scrappy. I drew it on on foolscap paper with blue lines on it , and on the Tripod website where I uploaded it, I put a blue horizontal line as the background image, making it look like foolscap paper too. Purpose-fully trashy/scrappy/whatever. Looking back, I have no idea WTF I was thinking. I guess I happend to be reading too much boring existential literature.
I drew only 2 strips(each one, 2 panels by 3 panels. each square panel about 7cm or 2.5 inches.) And I was even lame enough to record my crap vocals for the conversations(& the"Ooooo"s) for each panel. I was thinking of making a semi-animated(or maybe slide-show) Flash version later, but I never did.
Basically the story went something like this (cause i can't remember clearly, i ripped up the original sketches in 1 o my mood swings, & Tripod deleted it.):
STRIP 1
Panel 1- Mann the ghostboy floats along a deserted street going "Ooooo... Oooo..." That's the kinda noise ghost make in the MMORPG Ultima Online. Background has a narrow pathway on the side of the road, farther back is something that's suppose to be grass, and after that some gray rectangular blocks that are suppose to be buildings that seem to just pop out of the darkness. Some 5-pointed stars in the sky , that look like they might have been drawn by a kindergarten kid.
Panel 2- Mann looks at his hands, they look like crumpled(sp?) sheets or rags. He says somethings like "Who am I... bla bla bla". Panel splits, showing him float back & forth along the street.
Panel 3- Mann sees a car approaching and waves at it, maybe ask some questions or hitch a ride. View is from Mann's back. The car looks like it coming towards him on an empty 1-way road. Sky empty , pitch black. Instead of drawing bushes/shrubs/buildings on the side of the road, i wrote repeatedly "emptiness" on the left-side and "nothing" on the right.
Panel 4- Guy in the car is a Dilbert Look-a-like(but somehow i made him look like a beady eyed bart simpson in a suit). DL says something like "WTF?"
Panel 5- Close up on Mann's face, all starry eyed and a little creepy, like a ghoul with puppy dog eyes(bad combination). He asks some questions but they all come out as "Oooo... Ooooo!!!!"
Panel 6- Close up on DL's face, a little shocked. He has a twisted grin. His spectacles is tilted up on one side, revealing a bloodshot eye. He assumes Mann was trying to be funny and offers him a right home. "Just point in the right direction."
STRIP 2
Panel 1- Front view of car/the windshield. Mann sits next to DL at the front. DL blabbers on about something I must have lifted from a Dilbert strip and bla bla bla... Mann replies with a puzzled "Ooo..." Split panel. Close up view on Mann's starry eyes.
Panel 2- Mann suddenly finds himself standing on some planet that resembles the Moon or Mars, with craters and mini volcanoes. "Where am I ?" I drew random things in it, trying to make it look surreal or something... A flying pig(except it wasn't a pig, it was a dragonfly with a grinning pig-head), a Jack-In-A-Box kinda head-thing popping out of a mini-crater saying "HI!", some signpost (that says "Space Quest") pointing at a cubiold(sp?)-shaped building, and a giant ant.
Panel 3- Mann looks at his hand, "I have my hands back! I can talk! ..." Mann looks human, with a real eye(half of his face is covered in shadow) instead of hollow starry eyes, and a nose instead of a dot. Jack-In-A-Box Head is behind his shoulder, and it says "Hi."
Panel 4- Close up on Mann's starry eyes, with a "sweatdrop" on the side of his head. Split panel. Front view of Mann & DL(just like Panel 1). DL is still blabbering on about something. Another puzzled "Ooo..." DL suddenly screams.
Panel 5- Sideview of car screeching to a halt.
Panel 6- View from behind DL & Mann. A very badly drawn "IrfanView"(A fairly popular & lite-weight image editing freeware) cat/generic-roadkill is stuck on the windshield. And I censored the cat's private bits.
