I just thought of this one, I figured it'd be interesting to see our comments on this subject. I like both, but neither is always good. A lot of hentai with too much sex tend to have crappy or even no storylines.. but I like some of them I guess. Most try to make a good plot and involve intimate scenes.. there's a good grab bag of crappy storylines, crappy h-scenes, etc. Hmm.. looks like you really can't seperate the too judging by quantity of content, eh? It's more fun to see what you all think. ^_^

Lots of sex is good, but a storyline that incorporates lots of sex is better. :ok:
There are even those titles that only have one scene, but with such nice stories it doesn't matter.
I go for storyline.
Hmm...Good visuals are a point too.... I also like stuff with great girls, err...even though the story really ain't much...(Shusaku, I mean you..)

I go for the storyline because I like my adult animation with plot. :)

I just remembered that there was already a similar poll that has more choices here on the boards. It's called
What Makes Hentai Good.
Though I guess the choices are a little different since this thread asks if we like our hentai to be full of sex scenes and less plot, or juicy plot with less sex scenes.
But people can also check out the other thread and post some views there.

I think both have their place. it really just depends on what mood i'm in. I generally go for a good plot tho

Visuals can only take you so far, you need the plot... which is what got me hooked to H-games...

Well I think I'm going soft, I'm begining to look more and more for a good story which incoperates the sex/love in then simple slamdunk.
Whats happening to me?
I'm not even fastforwarding anymore I accually pay attention to the story, even censored hentai is good these day.
Well it's 1:44 am where I live perhaps some sleep will remove this uncomfortable cuddly side I'm not used to
On a side note I finished watching EVA last night and I heard there is a hentai, I want that so please point me in the right direction asap kk.

Hentai's HAVE A STORYLINE?
Just Kidding
I go for quality, and lots of sex, I could really care less about the story. Then i'm still young and horny so that could be why.
Any body know where i can find UNCENSORED Bible Black Revival or what ever is NOT Bible Black + Bible Black Origins?

Oh come on, you should know better than that by now. Sorry.
Anywho, I'm all about more scenes. Now, story is important, but if you were to ask me what I wanted to watch more, I'd say the one with more sex.

I like them both but kinda balanced. A hentai that has a ton of story and little sex feels kinda cheap, but one that has long extensive sex scenes can be boring also.

i'd vote for storyline.
take for example "divi-dead" it haves an exelent storyline but very few hentai, and many cute girls :D
of course, both of them would be better XD

A hentai with a captivating storyline is awesome and if they can incorporate sex scenes into it, even better, it'll be like watching a real movie, you'll soon get hooked. Too much sex, yes I said too much sex, can get really boring because it just sucks away the energy from the storyline.

Can't really vote. It really depends. Some hentai with cliché storylines (like Suika) and normally stupid sex fests (like Leatherman) do have their appeal. I dunno, I think it's with the execution. There are some authors that could get away with stupid storylines as long as the execution and overall effect is good, even if the art/animation isn't.

There has to be some sort of a story otherwise it'll be better to watch a porn then. Some of the hentai out there does make you feel worth less after watching it, so even if it's a hentai and that details should be a must...but there must be a good plot line...otherwise it makes the feature cheap no matter how "good" the sex scenes are.

I would like a hentai to be something that I would want to watch even if it wasn't a hentai. So therefore it has to have a great storyline to it. The same can be said with hentai games too I suppose. Although there aren't too many of those released in the US for some reason .

I think it's because Hentai games is only liked by a limited audience.. I just can't see the general public liking to see if a hentai "video" game gets much publicity... in America.. they'll crucify the game that's for sure.. so that's wheere the internet comes in..
I mean.. Grand Theft Auto.. there was a secret ending sex scene in it and the government immediately got onto it..denouncing it as evil, so for this "Consrvative Christian" hypocritical, back stabbing.... need me to get into a rant to insult America then? I live in the U.S. but it's sure that I don't like the actions of the government as much...

Hmm, I don't really like the ones without a story line, I just love watching all the graphics and getting to know the characters and really immersing myself into the story.
Obviously though I must add that there is some exceptions

All I'm saying is that I'd like for a hentai game to come out that's on par with other games out there. I would love to see a Final Fantasy caliber hentai game in terms of graphics and story. Sure there wont be much of a market for the game, but if it's such a good quality game that people would buy it even without the H-scenes in it, than maybe they could release a version without all the H-scenes in it to appeal to the masses. Or maybe even sell a patch that just adds all the H-scenes in it like they did with Knights of Xentar.
Anybody have an idea how they would rate the game if they did either of those? I assume that it would be treated like movies are treated when they come out with an R rated and unrated version. But since movies are more socially acceptable it may be different.

This might be the scenario of selling an individual patch...what did they do with the previous game you mentioned.. seeing the identification of a game, I assume you played it... then how did you find that out..
I would imagine someone wealthy would have to finance this project.

Knights of Xentar is produced by MegaTech which has long since bit the big one. After doing a bit of research it appears as though most of their games had the optional patch which adds all the fun stuff we all love. Anyways it looks like that without the patch the game has a rating of NR-13, and with the patch it had a rating of NR-18. The game is over ten years old and used a different rating system, so who knows how it would be treated today.
And yes, it would definitely take significant capitol to produce such a game. Maybe they should start out with something that's easier to make, something like Final Fantasy Tactics. Then if they can gain enough resources maybe they can even make a MMOHRPG.

I like a story that can keep me interested between sex scenes. Well-integrated sex scenes with the action are to my mind the most fun kind of story. The person who has done this best, for my money, is John Norman with his Gor novels. He is VERY good at slipping little slavegirl bits into the background of the story st that there's often half-naked women slinking around in chains as the plot progresses, and they regularly become naked women doing more than just slinking around.
Along the same lines, Fencer of Minerva did a good job of integrating sex and bondage to the story, while keeping strong story. The same goes for Words Worth and the Imma Youjo series. In fact, Imma Youjo IV had an incredible plot wherein the sex scenes, including a lengthy series with the heroine engaging in a lot of nonconsensual sex while in a dungeon, are all absolutely integral to the plot and serve to advance it and build suspense.
Wish somebody would do a hentai knockoff of Gor. Fencer of Minerva is pretty close to that, but doesn't have the barbaric lust for battle and women down.

i like a story line, sex integrated and relevant to it, that's why i am not into normal porn, it is just plain boring and it feels so stupid, like if there is not connectionbetween the charaters, the surroundings, the situations... like if i am being fed some cheap propaganda.
The drawings need to be good though, and although i am not into girls, the H fem needs to be cute, (let alone the male!) if not, i find it too grotesque!

Okay, I am new the boards and there is 50 post thing before I can start my own topic but hey there are always ways to bend the rules. I thought this topic would be close for trying to help me get some answers. I am not new to the whole hentai scene but since going off to college and stuff I have dedicated my time to studying and having fun. Now in my senior when I am a little lazier and with less classes I am returning to anime and hentai.
For me the storyline from whatever genre is much more important and besides some of the graphic scenes in hentai is not to my taste. The storyline is very critical for me to have any repeat viewing. So I had a puzzling question about Kao no nai Tsuki (Moonlight Lady or Faceless Moon). With so many different titles you would think I would find more info an this series but i digress, anyway it was a pretty good series, except there where some unexplained questions at the end.
Hoping anyone can help me fill in the potholes to these questions that have been bugging me from the series and it could also be spoilers for those who have not watched the series.
1. Who or what is Mizuna, and why is she tied up and living in the cave of the shrine?
2. So Suzuna's mom has been dead for years but is now back thanks to the camellia tree, is her strength regaining because of all the sexually activity and does she come back after the ceremony; or she didn't because Suzuna and Koichi didn't die?
3. What happened to the professor from Hayama's University? and who was she? what was her purpose?
4. They talked about after the ceremony that the two would leave the mountain would there memories of the truth return to them and the others?
5. What was the meaning behind it snowing?
Okay hopefully someone has answers for me, I watched all 5 episodes and still had more nagging questions but for now these have bothered me the most. I tend to try to fiind some understanding in things I watch and read. My friends think I'm a little obsessive in trying to get information, but to me I just want some clarity.
Thanks in advance

Actually I would love to watch a ero-anime that had an equally good mix of story and scenes... I mean, how hard is it (no pun intended) to come up with a story where the fate of the world didn't depend on how many people get raped in the city, or how the loser-y protagonist isn't resorting to blackmail, dickmail in this case, in getting revenge against every hot girl who turned him down for a date/made his school life a living hell.
C'mon. I've got great ideas for h-stuff. You know where to call me. Show me the Poonani! (I hereby copyright that as one of the h-dialog in any series I am hired to write).
I wish there was more comic-h - as in funny ero-anime. There's nothing wrong with laughing and getting some at the same time... well, maybe there is something wrong... (images of clowns... shudder).

The problem is not that Ero-Anime with more creative plotlines and stories aren't being made; it's that they're not being licensed.
Case-in-point:
Ane HaramixThis game based Ero-Anime is about a guy living alone with his "sister". One day, the God of Death named Mina comes before them because it's the guy's time. The guy's "sister" (Hitomi) then pleads to Mina to spare her "brother's" life. Moved by this act, Mina tells them that if the guy can get Hitomi pregnant within a week, he can extend his life another ten years. Of course the guy is willing to do it, but Hitomi being his "sister" isn't too keen on the idea.
It has four episodes, and the fourth one looks like
this.
Another case would be:
Anejiru the Animation: Shirakawa San Shimai ni OmakaseThis game based Ero-Anime is about a guy who is living with his three sisters-in-law. His father is always away on archeological trips. Now in his father's room is a bottle that puts some kind of curse on him. In order to lift the curse he has to collect "juices" from his three sisters-in-law within a predetermined amount of time. This description could lead you to think that this show is going to contain rape, but all scenes in the two episodes are very consensual.
There's also:
Kateikyoushi no Oneesan the Animation : H no Hensachi AgechaimasuGame based Ero-Anime about a guy whose father hired four live in private tutors. The father (obviously) leaves him and the four voluptuous tutors for some trip. The boy concentrates on his studies, but the tutors have something else in mind. Yup, the women are the ones who take the boy on a ride and the guy just does what comes naturally.
HiMeGoToAbout a student couple having trouble taking their first steps into "Adulthood". The guy then has an encounter with a teacher on a train, which leads to a short relationship with the teacher. The teacher and the guy eventually decide to stop the affair, and his experience with the teacher help him with his girl friend.
There's also
Beyond from the makers of Agga-Ruter (and of course Tenchi Muyo),
Blind Night,
Mikagura Tanteidan (Mikagura Detective Agency [based on a game by Elf]) and many, many more.
Heck even sequel series to titles that have already been licensed don't make it.
Kaette Kita Court no Naka no Tenshitachi,
Zoku Gosenzo (Masquerade sequel),
Zoku Koihime,
Flutter of the Birds 2 Tenshitachi no Tsubasa to name a few.
There are also cases in which single episodes have been left out:
Leatherman should have 5 episodes, but the 5th one never made it to the US (or wasn't released).
Kokudo Oh same as Leatherman
Haitoku no Shoujo the episode that was released is actually the second one.
Milk Junkies episodes 3 and 4 were released as episodes 1 and 2 of "Boobalicious" (such a terrible "Pornified" title); no indication that episodes 1 and 2 were licensed if ever.
Kunoichi Bakumatsu Kitan episode 2 should have been released with the first episode.
The list goes on.
