Another of those self explanatory topic titles.

Yes and No. The story matters, sort of. I know it sounds like a flakey answer, but it isn't. I'll try to explain.

The story has to be detailed enough to give the 'general feeling' without going overboard and shoving details down my throat that are magnificently irrelevant.

So setting up the story and the 'mood' are important, but 'garbage time' is worthless.

I have spoken. Make is so.

The translation is very important. Which annoys me greatly as very few good titles have been translated. At least I can't seem to find any more
pesmerga99
Depends. If the trans is a good turn on, then hell yeah. If not, well...I could do with the pics alone (if they are any better ). It's a good read if both are good, right?
EcchiMonkey
I can read some Japanese so I don't really care. Ha, I win. Almost..

Ya ain't the only one bub.

But we still don't understand everything.

Doesn't really matter to me. Heck I got more non-translated h-manga than I do those translated ones. Sometimes, I even get more turned on by those that I don't understand.

Oh yeah, long live ACD See's Slide Show feature. (Easy on the hands. )
Demoncaller777
Sometimes it's better when you make up your own story for things you don't understand. Most times you can get the general idea, and so words don't matter. It'd be nice if I could read Japanese though...
tns
It would be more fun if i understood what the characters were saying.. sometimes more funny too.
Stoneman6
Difficult to say.

If the artwork is good or just 'pin-up' type H then, no problem. Otherwise it get's frustrating.
Minoizuri
I think that it's important to understand what I'm veiwing, because with out understanding it kind of spoils the enjoyment for me.

I can read katakana and a few hiragana, so I guess I understand them a bit...

Understanding it gives more feeling to what I'm reading... But it's no big deal if there's nothing that can be done about it...^_^

But it'd be real nice to know what they're really saying.....
Assasin Zero
Honestly, I'm seeing naked hot chicks engaged in hardcore sexuals acts, what they are saying is not what I'm interested on. ;)

I agree with you. A little plot/story can provide more turn on.
Malachi
Of course it matters! 'nuff said!
Sesshomarulocked
I'd much rather know what the people are saying because that kind of adds to the..."mood?" of what you are reading. Kinda
Pat Powers
I like reading the bad translations. You know, where they're kissing or something and saying things like,

"Give me all your hot, melty watches."

or

"I crave the purple monkey socks."

You just don't get subtitles like that outside really bad anime.
starman
I never read one, I just watch it
UncolaMan
It's all about context for me. The quality of art isn't what impresses me, it's knowing what's really going on.

I can't really decide on which one to vote for... cus i'm the type of person who likes reading and understanding the story but somehow can understand the story without even knowing how to read the RAW japanese versions...
xskballerx
When I watch any movie, whether it is just a regular movie or porn/hentai, I at least try to get something out of it.. Although porn doesnt have much meaning behind it, I would like to understand what is happening and not just watch it for the sex.
yukikanou
I like what Pat Powers said.

Go to the library and get some books on how to read some Japanese.

(I am very sorry, I am just sick of seeing this.)

I like my stuff in raw Japanese. As a Japanese major, it's great to see it RAW...and you may be able to learn a new kanji (Han character) or new word, etc. =P
