What does your computer desktop look like? I just organized mine putting all my major programs on my office toolbar. One tool bar with ie, netscape, winamp, and other common programs. A second toolbar with flash, dreamweaver, photoshop, cuteftp, swift, lightwave, and other graphic programs for my website and for fun. My third toolbar has all my games on it.

    How geeky are you when you like a clean organized desktop and harddrive?  :blush:

i have on a wallpaper for D.  (which i made.)  total dementia.

and that's what's on my desktop now.  i dun put too much shortcuts on it.  i'd rather place them on the windows toolbar.  those icons wreck the chaos that goes on in my wallpaper.

Lain wallpaper, 2 icons, My Computer and Recycle Bin which are renamed as Copland OS Enterprise and Navi Disposer. :sweatface:

And one small kawaii japanese desktop cal/clock which goes "Present Day, Present Time.. Muahahahah!!" every hour. Hmm.. the clock is not showing.

I'd bet I have the neatest desktop around, anyone better than mine? :D

Right now my desktop wallpaper is an Angelina Jolie pic. I change my desktop pic very frequently, 'cause I get bored with how it looks. As far as icons go, I don't have the whole thing littered with them, although I think I have way more shortcuts on there than I actually use. And about the harddrive cleaning, heh, I just did that, too. I was moving stuff all over the place, then I recompressed my drives to save space and stuff. I was looking to make some room for this game I downloaded that takes an enormous amount of space to get installed.

my desktop's not much. I just like yuna's pic so I used it as my wallpaper. since a large part of the wp is bare, that's where I placed all my icons...I used to have an utena desktop theme but I friend of mine got icked by it cuz my wp was utena and anthy hugging in bed (yup, it's yuri)...:rofl:

You know how Win98 looks like when you first installed it? That what mine looks like...only with some shortcuts. My laptop's the same, with a little less buttons.

i've got a counter strike wall paper on mine with only one icon on it, that being recycle bin :angryfire: does ne one know how to remove it?

Well, I've been using screenshots of A-GA and other games by Illusion that I take then photoshop enhance.

Some highlights:
- Wallpaper changes every 30 minutes, shuffling randomly through my collection of 200+
- The Windows shell has been completely removed from the desktop system. Explorer.exe doesn't even boot up. Instead I'm running a custom version of Blackbox. Instead of having a start menu, right-click on the desktop calls up a single menu which gives me access to literally every folder and system on the PC.
- See that little skin? That's a winamp *2* skin. And interestingly, it's designer used a transparency hack I invented. ^_^
- Those icons at the bottom of the screen are part of a custom configured version of Y'z Dock. When my mouse crosses the dock, the icons expand so they're easier to click, and I can drag and drop programs on to the dock for quicklaunching.

Those are just the customizations I can fit in a screenshot. :sweatface:

where do I find that stuff? I'm trying to get my desktop as empty as possible. currently, only the taskbar is seen if nothing's running (me no use wallpapers). getting it down to that Y'z Dock being the only visible thing looks like the closest thing I can get to a total void.

You can try iconoid. It lets you hide all the icons on your desktop, and now that you're already using the hide task bar feature, that's pretty much going to give you what you want.

my desktop is already devoid of all icons. I'd put up a screenshot but Photobucket seems to be misbehaving right now.

I tried using Y'z Dock. nice. my only complaint is that I can't use it without the mouse. as much as possible, I avoid using my mouse.

I agree, dude. That's a mega sweet desktop. It's so sleek and slim! Nothing like mine....stupid icons! Grah! Anywho, it also makes me want to check out Firebird...despite using FireFox....I guess I'm just a loser....
